Like many great ideas, the Denver Mac and Cheese Beerfest was born from a barstool.    “We do our weekly group meetings at bars so it can spark ideas,” said Ryan Wieczorek, director of sales and marketing for Rockstar Beer Festivals. “Someone ordered mac and cheese when we were all drinking and we all thought, ‘What if we paired Mac and cheese with a beerfest?’”    The Denver Mac and Cheese Beerfest was born. Melvin Brewing coming to Denver?

Denver beer lovers may soon have another chance to sample gold-medal winning beers on premises if Wyoming’s Melvin Brewing moves to town.    The Denver Post is reporting that Melvin is negotiating the purchase of a warehouse in the Golden Triangle neighborhood at 1235 Delaware St.   Eric Henderson, a Melvin Brewing spokesman, said the deal for the property remains tentative. But co-founder Jeremy Tofte confirmed the company is looking to open its third brewpub in Denver in spring 2018, the Post reported.    This would be the 2015  small-brew pub brewer of the year’s third brewpub. Colorado breweries take 38 medals, sweep Pro-Am at 2017 GABF

Colorado breweries took home 38 medals at the 2017 Great American Beer Fest and swept the Pro-Am Category.    With a gold in the American-Style Lager or Malt Liquor category with Mexican Lager and a silver in the Imperial Red Ale category with Hop Zombie, Lone Tree Brewing was the only Colorado brewery to win multiple medals.   In the Pro-Am category, Denver Beer Co. and AHA member Doug Thiel took gold with Just Another Pretty Face, Black Bottle Brewery and AHA member Daniel Tomkins took silver with Lichtenhainer and Odell Brewing Co. and AHA member Mark Boelman came home with bronze for Eluxansis.   In total, Colorado Breweries received…
