Joe's Pilsner ain't your grandfather's Pils

Joe's PilsnerJoe's Pilsner

To be honest, I can't remember the last time I drank a Pilsner before I tried Avery's Joe's Premium Pilsner. There are times when all you want is an easy-drinking beer and Joe's fits the bill to a tee.

It pours a creamy white head with a light golden-yellow body with decent lacing. It's got an unmistakable Pilsner taste upfront, but there's a nice dose of hops to finish it off. The hops are strong enough that they stay around for quite sometime, but aren't overbearing.

Unlike some Pilsners you can also taste the malts in Joe's.

At 4.7% ABV, Joe's is a great session beer. The fact that it comes in cans means that you can take pretty much anywhere.

The only thing I don't like about Joe's (and I can't really complain about this) is that it's hard to get the cans out of the plastic six-pack holder. The reason I can't complain is that the holder is recyclable and isn't going to kill any birds who mistake it for a jellyfish or something.
